同世代４人【布施久美子 早川陽子 韓 美華 宗岡さと子】のそれぞれの活動を展示しました。
今展のコンセプトを早川陽子さんが作成してくださいました。
野草のことば Words of the Wildflowers
出品者の4人には、共通点があります。
40歳を目前にしていること、女性であること、制作を続けているということ。
そしてもちろん、共通していない部分もあります。人生のあらゆる面において、
そして作品の方向性についても。今回、この場所で展覧会を行うことになるまで
出会う機会のない４人でした。それくらいバラバラの地点から、私達はここに辿
り着きました。幸運な出会いと導きによって。
このギャラリーを初めて訪れたのは８月の猛暑日でした。エアコンが効き始める
よりも早く、暑さにやられた頭脳に飛び込んできたのは、鮮やかな緑色でした。
ガラス越しに見えるのはただの、名前のわからない高木で、ただの線路脇の草で
おそらくネコジャラシやタンポポばかりでしょうが、原宿の街のどんな人工物よ
りも、深い輝きをもって心に沁みこんできました。それは、電車が通るたびに揺
れるしなやかな草花と、日々に翻弄されながらもなんとか制作を続ける自身の姿
を、重ねたのかもしれません。
線路沿いの草花も、秘境に息づく山野草も、なぜそんなところに…、と問いたく
なるような場所で懸命に生きています。その姿を見つめれば見つめるほど、野草
から問いが返ってくるのです。「なぜあなたはそこにいるの？」と。
制作は自身への問いであり、作品は問いかけるための言葉です。
野草のささやきのような、微細な声かもしれませんが、この場を訪れてくれた人
には、どうか届きますように。小さくてもここでしか咲けない花を届けられます
ように。
Words of the Wildflowers
We as four female artist nearing the age of 40, have in common the will to keep creating.
The part where we differ is each of our own paths in life and the direction of our work.
Up until this point our artwork did not have an opportunity to cross paths. We just happen to arrive from various places in this moment in time through sheer destiny.
It was a unbelievable humid day in August when I visited this gallery the first time. It was a vivid green color that jumped into my tired brain before I felt the cool breeze of the A/C. There were overwhelming high trees, mere grass on the rail-side that were maybe dants des lion or setarias, but I felt a deep bright energy from them more than any artificial things in Harajuku. I might have overlooked them between the wildflowers, who were swinging by the train. As we passed them the thought of their continued creations through the mercy of nature reminded me that we are in such a hurry most of the time.
Mere grass and wildflowers break through the rail-side in the mountains, they fight so hard to exist. I want to ask them “Why you choose such a place?” And the wildflowers replied to us “Why are you there, too?”
A question to myself about creation-the artwork speak the words we ask.
If you listen closely you can hear the small murmurs and voices of the wildflowers. I wish to send the message of these voices from the wildflowers that can bloom only here.
